This morning we drove back to Arusha, with a couple of quick stops for the shoppers, and then we were back to the Olasiti Lodge. Here we had a day room where we could rest, re-pack bags, and wander around, until time for a snack and onward to the airport. The rooms were decorated with beautiful wall-hangings.
We left about 4:30 PM, with David escorting us for the 1.5 hour drive. It was a fairly clear day, so we had a decent view of Mount Kilimanjaro. After some anxious moments with the airport electricity going off and computers shutting down, we eventually got checked in and onto our plane for a 9 PM departure. Thirty-three hours and seven time zones later, we arrived home about 8PM local time.
It was a great trip – we’re ready to go again ….
